Trending Assets: Pengu, Cashcat & PumpFun Lead The Pack
CoinGecko's trending list is dominated by $PENGU, $CASHCAT, and $PUMP, signaling growing retail appetite for social-native and launchpad tokens alongside $BTC.
CoinGecko's trending assets list is flashing a clear signal: retail-oriented and social-native tokens are commanding serious attention, with $PENGU (@PudgyPenguins), $CASHCAT (@cashcat_token), and $PUMP (@pumpdotfun) all sitting near the top of the rankings.
PENGU Leads, Backed by Brand Staying Power
$PENGU tops the trending list with a market capitalization of $389.3M. CoinGecko data shows a circulating supply of around 63 billion PENGU, supporting that valuation. The token is the fungible extension of the Pudgy Penguins brand. Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8,888 penguin-themed NFTs on Ethereum that launched in 2021 and became one of the most traded blue-chip NFT projects during the 2021 to 2022 cycle. The persistence of PENGU's market cap reflects the durability of that brand, particularly notable given that most NFT-adjacent tokens have seen their market caps erode dramatically since 2022.
$CASHCAT (@cashcat_token) follows with a market cap of $135.5M, representing the growing class of social media-native crypto projects that generate community-first momentum before building out broader utility. $MOWCAT (@mowcatmeme), sitting further down the list at $19.6M, fits a similar profile.
PUMP Confirms Launchpad Infrastructure Has Become Its Own Asset Class
$PUMP (@pumpdotfun) carries a market cap of $1.1B, making it the heaviest-weighted name on the trending list outside of Bitcoin. CoinGecko places Pump.fun at a market cap of over $1.1B, ranking it #62 globally. The platform has become a dominant force in on-chain token creation. Although Pump.fun's share of total launchpad fees dropped sharply earlier in the summer due to competition, it rebounded to over 50% by mid-August as the overall launchpad market grew 77%, with Pump.fun's own fees rising 30% to $31.83M in that period.
Pump.fun also recently introduced new platform mechanics to sustain that momentum. Its BOOST mechanism, launched July 21, 2026, automatically reinjects previously locked liquidity via buybacks and burns after token migration, driving the token graduation rate to 6.7%, roughly eight times June's average.
$BTC rounds out the list in fifth place with a market capitalization of $1,260.9B, a reminder that even amid a rotation toward smaller, narrative-driven assets, Bitcoin's gravitational pull on the broader market remains intact.
Taken together, the composition of the trending list points to a market that is simultaneously chasing Bitcoin's macro narrative and rotating into high-beta social tokens and launchpad infrastructure plays.
